Welcome back to Term 2! In our PE classes we have been practicing our long distance running and learning what happens to our bodies when we participate in high intensity exercise.  The culmination of our fitness unit is the Melrose Primary School Cross Country. This is held on our school oval on Tuesday 3rd  of May. Students are to wear their full school uniform with appropriate running shoes.  Students in Years 3-6 will participate in a timed race with other students in their age group, our Foundation and Year 1/ 2 classes will have the opportunity to run the cross country track with their classmates. The cross country will run from 12.00-1.40pm with a sausage sizzle at the conclusion of the event, raising money for the state school spectacular.  Congratulations to the following 10 students who have qualified for the Wodonga District Athletics Carnival. It will be held in Term 3 on Thursday 8th September at the Albury Athletics Track.  Well done to Logan Sandland (shot put and hurdles), James Mulholland (hurdles and  800m), Jordan Piuila-Hogan (discus), Tayla Callaghan (long jump and 800m), Mackenzie Blunden (long jump), Lilly Callaghan (800m), Jay Barker (discus), BJ Grieshaber (800m), Jorja Lewko (long jump, hurdles), Emily Mackenzie (shot put and hurdles).
