Parent Opinion Survey 2017
WE WANT OUR PARENTS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK
Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents at each school.
It is designed to assist our school in gaining an understanding of parents’ perception of school climate, student engagement and relationships with our parent community. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.
The survey will be conducted online by ORIMA Research Pty Ltd and only takes 15 minutes to complete. The survey can be accessed via desktop computer, laptop, tablet or mobile at any convenient time within the fieldwork period from Monday 7th August to Sunday 27th August.
In line with Department processes, approximately 30 per cent of parents will be invited to participate in this year’s survey with the list of participants being randomly generated through our School Administration platform. These families will be contacted shortly and given further details on how to access the survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous.
The survey results will be reported back to our school at the end of September and shared with our wider school community in order to recognise the strengths of Melrose and to effectively plan identified improvements and initiatives moving into the future.
For further information, please contact Kellie Thorp via the school office or visit: http:// www.education.vic.gov.au/school/teachers/management/improvement/Pages/performsurveyparent.aspx
PARENTS AND FRIENDS CLUB
Melrose Primary School are looking for community members who are interested in joining our Parents and Friends Club. Participation would include helping with events such as Father’s/Mother’s Day Stalls, Breakfast Club, the Melrose Community Fair and other school fundraisers.
A meeting will be held on Friday the 11th of August at 3:30pm in Area 15 (Foundation classroom) where you can ask any questions about what the P&F involves and express interest in helping out with any specific events.
Parents and community members have always played a huge role in our school events, and we are eager to continue this support into the future.
If you are wanting to join the P&F club but are unable to attend the meeting, please contact Wendy at the front office and leave your contact number and email address, before this date.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there,
